Staying Up-to-date with Product Updates

Product updates are important for many different types of Blender Market products, from add-ons to texture packs. In many cases, updates are intended to fix software version compatibility problems or add even more features to an already feature-packed product. This quick article is meant to help you stay informed (if you're a customer) or get the word out (if you're a product creator) about product updates.

If you're a customer...

When a product that you bought gets updated, you want to know about it, right? Being notified about product updates allows you to make sure that you're working with the most up-to-date version of the product and enjoying all of its benefits.

The easiest way to stay on top of what's new with products you've purchased is to check the Creator Emails tickbox in My Account > Privacy Center > Consents. Allowing Creators to contact you means that they can email you about the products that you purchased whenever they upload new versions.

If you're a product creator...

When you publish an update to your product, share the news with everyone who already bought the product! The easiest way to do this is to navigate to Email Customers in your Creator Dashboard. Select the relevant product and prepare your update email.

After you have saved your draft, you will have the option to delete, save the draft again, or send the email.

And that's it! Easy peasy. If you have any questions, let us know in the comments.

I'd like the idea of an Add-On Manager to keep things organized!

Hi Francoise. Just log in to your account, select "Orders" from the dropdown menu at the top right corner of the screen, and re-download the product files. Drop us a note if you run into any problems.

Hi Panama. Could you describe your situation in more detail? I'm not sure what sort of problem you're running into.

Hello. I bought an add-on months ago, but I didn't create an account to do so. So now I need to update. How will I go about doing this?
